PUBLIC NOTICE Glynn County, GA has been awarded $47,190.00 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. A voluntary local board made up of diverse Glynn County representatives in adherence to standards of the National Board will determine how these funds are awarded. Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) have an accounting system, 3) practice nondiscrimination, 4) have demonstrated that capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 5) if they are a private and voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board. Qualifying public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact United Way of Coastal Georgia at 912-265-1850 Ext. 12 for an application or may stop by the United Way office at 3400 Parkwood Drive, Suite A, 2nd Floor, to pick up a copy after calling. The deadline to submit an application is February 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm.
